From November 6 to 8, 2024, the 2024 NEPCON ASIA was held as scheduled at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. MAKER-RAY made a grand appearance with a number of new products and the latest technologies, and displayed MAKER-RAY's technological innovation achievements in many aspects, attracting many visitors to stop and understand, consult and negotiate.
At present, industrial manufacturing is developing towards intelligence, automation and flexibility. It is very important to use advanced equipment to enhance the intelligence and digitalization level of factories, improve overall production efficiency, and promote high-quality development of enterprises. Among them, industrial visual inspection (AOI), as the "eye of industry", is an important part of helping enterprises to ensure production quality and realize intelligent manufacturing.
MAKER-RAY has been deeply engaged in industrial optical inspection for more than ten years. As the first company to apply AI technology to the field of visual inspection, it has always been determined to independently develop and continuously innovate. In addition to the full range of DIP detection products, the company also brought the new second-generation 3D AOI, bottom-illuminated 3D double-sided AOI, thickness measurement coating AOI, and 3D SPI with a newly upgraded framework at the Shenzhen 2024 NEPCON ASIA. Among them, the new second-generation 3D AOI of MAKER-RAY, AIS431, attracted a large number of visitors to experience and consult as soon as it was exhibited. The new second-generation 3D AOI of MAKER-RAY is not just a simple product upgrade, but a brand-new iteration from appearance, software to light source and framework.
Taking imaging as an example, stable and comprehensive imaging is an important basis for detection results. In the field of AOI, there are many ways to perform 3D imaging. The current mainstream method is to project moiré patterns onto the object to be measured through multiple projectors, and perform a series of calculations through deformation and position relationship to restore the three-dimensional contour of the object to be measured.
However, due to the complexity of boards and the diversity of components, some special devices or scenes, such as highly reflective devices on metal surfaces, devices with small reflective surfaces such as pins, and scenes with dense occlusion, will affect the light and projection, resulting in deformation of 3D imaging and affecting the detection results. The new second-generation 3D AOI of MAKER-RAY innovatively adopts an imaging solution that combines a projection with multiple side cameras. It is like four people using the same ruler to measure the inspection object from different angles at the same time, ensuring that the measurement standards are consistent, and can better restore 3D imaging. It has a good effect on some detection problems such as shadow occlusion, side defects, and ultra-high devices.
"I saw that MAKER-RAY's video account previously announced that the new second-generation 3D AOI would be unveiled at the exhibition, so I came here today to learn about it. The multi-side camera technology introduced by the engineer can well detect the side defects of our automotive electronic components and meet our higher product detection needs."
Imaging lays a solid foundation for AOI detection, and the integration of AI deep learning algorithms further improves detection efficiency and accuracy. At this exhibition, MAKER-RAY adhered to the concept of "technology-driven innovation" and shared the results of new technology practices with the audience in the form of AI programming demonstrations and keynote speeches. During the keynote speeches and interactive activities, many audiences stopped to listen and participate in the activities.
Taking silk screen character recognition as an example, silk screen characters have different colors and shapes, and are easily contaminated on the assembly line, resulting in dirty silk screens, which affects the accuracy of detection. MAKER-RAY AOI uses OCR character recognition algorithm, which is simple to program and more interference-resistant. It has high character recognition accuracy for blurred or dirty silk screens, similar characters, and dark scenes.
In addition, MAKER-RAY takes AI large models as the core, makes full use of larger amounts of data and information, extracts richer and more comprehensive features of different component solder joints, and improves the generalization ability of AOI algorithm models, so that it can identify more subtle differences and meet more flexible detection needs.
At present, the electronics manufacturing industry is constantly changing. Industrial visual inspection equipment manufacturers need to achieve comprehensive technological breakthroughs and product capability innovation and upgrading to better meet market demand. MAKER-RAY has never stopped on the road of innovation. With product technology as the core, it pays real-time attention to market changes and customer needs, constantly breaks through technical bottlenecks, and iterates new products. With "better AOI", it helps enterprises innovate and upgrade, and enables the intelligent development of electronic manufacturing.
